I have the identical problem with my LA140 which is only a couple of months old. I took it to the dealer under warranty and they couldn't find anything wrong. Looks like there a number of people with different models that have the same problem. I haven't come across anyone with a solution yet. Maybe John Deere has the answer since it is not uncommon.
