I have a somewhat steep hill in my front yard. I purchased a LTR180 in 2004 and last fall my LTR started to exhitbed loss of drivetrain power after approximately 20-25 minutes of mowing. The LTR would go up and down any hill in my yard, until the engine had worked a little (engine warmed, belts warmed) and then would lose drivetrain power.
Scenario:
- As soon as I start to go up a hill the LTR loses drivetrain power
- The engine does not drop RPMs
- If I push it it makes a sound alongs the lines of letting out the clutch on a car and you still have the emergency brake engaged
- The engine wants to engage and is trying to devliery 'torque' to something, but it won't go forward. (even on empty grass container)
- Small hills and flat areas I get full speed and performance
- I took to the John Deere dealer end of last year and after belt replacements, it has not changed. It was kind of expensive so I am trying to get some background on the issue before I spend anymore money trying to isolate this problem.
Thank you and I appreciate any guidance you can provide.
