I bought an old 108 and the battery isn't charging so I charge it up once in a while. No problem until I noticed it can't cut thick grass. The PTO clutch keeps slipping and I have to turn off the PTO, get out the thick grass, turn the PTO back on and go over it again. It takes about 5 times to cut the heavy grass.
So is it not charging because the PTO clutch has too big of a gap (about .125 now) and it's using too power to keep the PTO engaged? That's what some guy said. Are these two problems related?
Also what should the voltages of the battery be under load (starting), normal off, and full throttle? That will help me diagnose the problem.
