I went to my local John Deere dealer today with the solenoid in hand and asked if they could please test it so I wouldn't be wasting my $100 on buying a new solenoid when i didn't need to. As I suspected my local managerplays the game of the typical manager who's been told he Must take care of the Customer no matter what,...."BUT IT BETTER NOT COST US ANYTHING TO DO IT!!",.so I get..."well I've gotta have the whole tractor in order to tel ya ifin its good or bad,..besides itsa gonna cost ya ta have that thar critter tested and ah still ain't sure how I kin test it without the whole dang tracter which will cost anuthr hunnert dollars ta haul in hear"...I explain what I have done thus far,...but it's like I'm talking to the wall (a service tech is listening and nodding like he's seen this trouble before and I'm on the correct path in my analysis) the manager does not appear he wants to "HELP" me. I walk up to the parts counter and put down my hundred dollars for the new solenoid kit and go on my way really wondering why I like John Deere equipment ( I guess because it Does last and there are parts...but hometown service? not with a smile or the "may I help you" attitude anymore) Couple hours later I am able to get back to my repair job,...place the new part where I took the old one off,..connect all the wires,...plug in a new fuse,....and bingo it starts right up and purrs like a kitten,..I am in business again...Thank You God for answering my prayers! John Deere dealerships have dwindled with our changing times and long gone is the helpfulness we once found therein,...it's all about money now. China will soon take it all over. Sad day in America.
