The recommended way to prevent this is to make sure you torque the intake first and then torque the heads in 3 distinct steps starting at 62, then 124 and finally 186 in/lbs. Its a good idea to torque the left head to 62 then the right to 62 and repeat this sequence. Inspect for visible damage/imperfections.
