Rusty - By "ignition box mounted on right engine cover", I have to assume that to be the voltage regulator. Blowing fuses, coupled with frying the voltage regulator, you have a serious issue or possibly several issues.
You need to get the tech manual to be able to check the electrical system out. The TDC module needs to be checked, the stator (charging system) needs to be checked, the entire ground system along with the battery, and the ignition system all need to be thoroughly gone through.
Without being able to get hands-on, it would be nearly impossible to determine what your problem is. Your best bet, as I suggested, is to order a copy of the tech manual. - Dave
