Thanks for the info, Dave. I kinda thought the power steering was a difference, but I didn't know about the hydro, and I sure didn't know about the brakes. I beleive the guy who sold me this tractor truly believed it was a 22hp motor. He didn't seem real knowledgable about it. He thought the engine was Kohler; I was pretty sure it wasn't. I just hope when he said it was serviced "religously" he didn't mean they got down on there knees and prayed it would start. But serioulsy, it does seem to run well.
As I've read this Forum, I see your responses to questions frequently. If I had to guess, I'd say you were a JD tech offering your expertise to the masses. Whatever the case, I know I, and others appreciate your time responding, even to simple questions like mine. This JD seems a little more complex than my Wheel Horses of the same vintage that I have been using. I'll be glad when the snow stops flying around here so I can try this JD out on the grass. In the meantime, I'll be keeping an eye open for a deal on a blade. Thanks again for your input.
