I need some help. We have a John Deere SST18 (Spin-Steer) Lawn Tractor with about 80 plus hours on it. We have owned it for about 5 years. We have been pretty happy with the mower but recently have started having trouble with it. Last year it was in for repairs for an electrical problem and now after one mow this spring, the transmission has blown and it needs a new one. A new transmission will cost about 1300.00. Is it worth it to fix this mower or throw in the towel and get a new John Deere x324? We are starting to hear from our JD dealer that this model has turned out to not be a good one. I had hoped to get more than 5 years out of the SST18. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
