: : I have 1962 1010 for about 6 years and had nothing but
: : problem with the power steering gear box. Rest of the
: : tractor has been great. Keeps breaking the two pins on
: : levershaft. I have heard a few comments about this
: : being a common problem.Has anyone developed a good
: : solution. Thinking about trying to adopt a different
: : gear box to tractor. Found one in McMasters Catology
: : that may fit with a little modifications.
: I also have the same tractor with manual steering.
: I need a new steering box. What did you learn so far about modifying the steering box?
I have had the same problem: seems that there has to be a better way. I just plumbed the lines going to the steering canister together (by-pass). I found that the power unit was actually working against the pins ! I have narrowed it down to the control swith , which I cannot figure out after disassembling it. any comments will be appreciated !
