In Reply to: JD212 1986, Can't keep belt on, Help posted by Jeff D on Sunday, August 26, 2001:
I have the same problem and came to this board to look for solutions.
I have replaced the idler pulley which was bent and tighten the belt with different tensions but neither have solved the problem.
My JD112 is old (1973) but still runs great and is in very ggod shape. I think perhaps there is wear in the pulley assemblies and added all up, I get a bad result.
The engine drive pulley has three (3) V pulley areas in which to run the belt. The outside one is definitely for a snow blower attachment. What I do not know is - Which one should the deck run on - the middle "V" or the inside "V"????
Any other ideas out there?
