I have purchased a JD tractor and I am trying to get an exact ID. I believe it to be either a JD 2020 or 2030. The tractor appears to have had a serial number plate on the right hand side of the tranmission case under the drivers seat, but it is no longer present.
The tractor has rounded rear fenders with both head and tail light mounting brackets. It has a four(4) cylinder gas engine and three point hitch. It also has a solid front axle with no adjustment points. The transmission has two forward and one reverse gear ranges with four different gear selections.( 8 forward-4 reverse speeds.)An unusal feature is that the nameplate is not yellow with black letters but appears to be sliver letters and numbers on a black background.
Any suggestions as to how to identify this tractor, without a serial number would be appreciated
Thanks,
