: Where would the vapor lock happen. I don't think it would happen in the gas tank would it? None the less, I'll check it out when I get home tonight. A person emailed me back a little bit ago, and said that he had one but a 94, and it only happened when the outside temp was above 70 degrees farenheit. I haven't tried it in the cooler tempuratures yet so I'll probably give that a shot too.
: : : I own a 1990 John Deere STX38 Lawn Mower. It has been a great machine and has mowed where few dare to go. There seems to be a problem with the fuel getting to the carb now. The tractor will run for about 30-40 minutes, then it will die out on me and not start again for about 5 hours. Usually flat land all in all, and the tank is absolutly full. I have replaced the line fuel filter twice this summer and it is still doing this. There doesn't seem to be any constrictions in the line anywhere. If anyone has any answers to this mystery, please let me know.

: : Have you investigated vapor lock?
I had the same problem. I found that the generic fuel filter in the tune up kit was incorrect. The proper filter is more tubular in shape. Once I replaced the larger one for the smaller, tubular shaped one, my problem went away. Hope this helps.
