I've had a few Ms and Hs with overflowing carb problems that was caused by a hole in one or both float pontoons. When you tear it down to rebuild always check to see if the float actually floats. New floats aren't that expensive and is not a bad idea to replace it. But most of the time if the tractor has sat idle for any length of time gum and varnish build up on the needle and seat above the float.
