I'm looking at buying a 3414 loader backhoe. It's in reasonable shape-fair amount of smaller issues- gauges don't work, seat shot, throttle linkage needs some TLC, lights are jury rigged but work, has wrong batter that doesn't fit in box, etc... Tach shows just under 3K but who knows although my guess is probably 4000 ish. Two questions- it has a hydro transmission- no clutch just geat shift(1-2-3 and hi-lo) and then a forward and reverse foot control. Were these good dependable transmissions? What were the issues? Second-it seems to run pretty nice- just a lot of tinkering to do. Guy wants $4200(after some negotiation already)- any opinions on value are welcome- just looking for other opinions- thanks.
