Fred: Have you got $8,000. to spare? That is probably the rebuild cost. No one should ever buy these unless they have exclusively precission work for the tractor. By precission I mean planting, transplanting, spraying and vegetable harvesters.
I looked at these back in 1967-68. On my 1,000 acre dairy farm with 7 tractors, I could not justify one hydro. There are much tougher loader transmissions, just as fast as hydro. At the end of a long day a 5 speed gear drive with TA, will have baled just as much hay. Believe me, I had both in 656D as demos in field together. There was no job on my farm where hydro was more productive.
