Tyler: I would assume you have a US built Super C. I agree with the French possibility, although quite slim.
Look at the engine model and serial number. It is located on a flat machined surfaced just below number 1 spark plug. These letters and numbers will be stamped rather than cast in place. Model no. should read FCM and number should be around 151000.
The block part number partially hidden by oil filter and cast in place should read 354898 R1 or R2. Let me know what you find.
