Jerry: The drawbar pin hole should be 14" beyond end of PTO shaft. That gives standard setting if PTO equipment is being used.
On width, I'd go with 2.5" rather than 1.75", just a bit more strength at drilled holes. 1" is plenty thick, factory was probably 3/4". Don't let me discourage you from 1", most factory drawbars were too light, especially if your using trailers.
