Clydeman: None of the offset Farmalls right up to the last 140 in 1979, ever had power steering. Your steering is a manual gear box, filled with gear oil 90. There is no connection between the steering box and the hydraulic system.
The very first thing you should buy is an operator's manual. You don't have one, or at least your not reading it or you wouldn't be asking some of these questions. I can think of several functions of maintenence and lubrication, you will not find or do without the manual. The cost of not doing them, roughly $1,000.
