I have a 1981 IH 686D that has what I will call growl from the rear end when driving at lower speeds. At higher speeds you don't hear it. I bought this tractor this winter , has 2300 hrs on it, it works fine, I don't have any metal in the hydraulic filter screen but it seems to have more noise than my 560 which has the same trans set up. 686 does have 18.4 38's which is a lot of tire for this tractor. Any comments would be approeciated if this model might just have gear sets that do growl do to fit.
