Running it a little would be OK with a cup of diesel fuel in the oil until warm, but then it is prudent to change the oil with good oil as soon as possible. Oil thins too fast on it's own, it does not need help. But sounds like you also have a battery problem. Don't take chances. Oil is cheap compared to repairs.
You soaked it up how long after you added the fuel?
Like I said don't go any further until a new oil and filter change.
