I understand what youre saying Hugh. This gets thrown up on the "big" board ever so often, and its a heated discussion each time. I do recall though, that I think it was, Guy Fay or Jim Becker, who stated that on the letter series, the model "letters" accually did stand for something, much like their previous counterparts, say the WK-40 W was standard, K was kerosene, 40 was the model. I distincly remeber this conversation becuase the fact of the K in FBK for the Farmall M is not an M like on every other Farmall, A, B, C, H. By 1947 it seems the got smart, and used FCUB for the Cub. I guess it was too much....If I find the thread, Ill be sure to let you know.
