Aaron: Tractor prices are quite geographic, overall I think actual selling prices have dropped in the past year.
Auctions can be funny, some items go dirt cheap, while others go sky high, depends on who's bidding. Not knowing a lot about the tractor, I'd place a ceiling at $2,500-$3,000. If you get it for less, consider it a good deal. Over that depends on the plumpness of your pocket book.
Another thing you must consider, it's not uncommon to spend $1,500. on a tractor like that to put it in top working condition. Usually someone is getting rid of it because it needs some work. Then you have estates, Grandpa put up with items not working right, now his heirs are selling what they think is a perfect tractor. Regardless of who was using it last, these tractors are capable of working with numerous parts not performing top notch.
