Looking for ideas. I have a '47 M, gas. The carb leaks from the small hole in the bottom of the body. I cleaned everything and put a kit in it thinking the float valve was the problem. This didn't help. Here is what I have observed to date. The bowl is empty, turn on the gas valve and no leak. Crank the engine and gas starts leaking, motor never does fire, it doesn't crank long enough. It's as if the engine is sucking the fuel from the bowl up the intake but it doesn't get that far and falls back into carb body where it runs out. Any ideas of something to try or look for would be appreciated.
