There are standard torque values for different diameter fasteners. For example; a 3/8" dia bolt the nominal torque value would be from 35 lbs ft to 42 lbs ft of torque. For a 1/2" dia bolt it's about 60 lbs ft. Fine thread bolts will hold more torque than coarse thread.
Not sure where you'd find it on the internet but do a search for "standard bolt torque" and see what you come up with. Or do like I do; when it feels tight enough- stop turning the bolt.
