Jeremy: Those 340s were available with one of two hydraulic systems. One had as yours pump driven from timing gear, while the other had pump in torque tube, and driven off IPTO drive line. I know the latter used transmission as reservoir. I'm not certain on yours, however if you follow both lines from pump, one has to go to whatever function it is used for and the other to reservoir. That principle is common to every hydraulic system ever designed.
