I see no reason that it would bother only in third gear as the high low hydraulic clutch packs are in use in all speeds. Does the high low (side way movement on speed transmission lever) work , that is respond to lever movement by shifting the power command back and forth from high to low. The electric switch is mounted on this lever and may not contact correctly when in the third speed but usually when you have a sentry problem it is caused by the high low pressure switchs located beneath the floor board. Intermitent problems can be really difficult to track down sometimes. I would try to determine if it occurs in the high range or the low range and go from there. You can actually disconnect the switch on the offending side to see if it is that or not, and it will operate in that range but not in the other. Good luck.
