This may not help, our IH pull type combine had a Farmall CUB engine in it in the early 60's, it was overspeeded from the factory so it had a few more HP, it took more than 15HP to run the combine, and it worked fine, if you overspeed yours, you would just go faster and complicate the problem unless you can gear down. I do believe the later CUBs and 184's were also overspeeded by a few hundred RPM. I would think an overbore, higher compression pistons would yield more real world power. Shorter tires would also let you overspeed and still travel the same speed.
