i have inherited a 1969 ih 434 from my father who is too old to work the small plot of land we have,
hes been starting it with ether for about 7 years and its been stood outside for the last 2 years unused,
im pretty sure the heater plugs measured open circuit when i checked them out years ago,
my plan is to get it working again so i can grow my own veggies, i cant eat supermarket greens yuck,
can anybody tell me if heater plugs are still available or is it possible to use modern bosch plugs with an adaptor or could i lathe the center out of the existing plugs and tap them to accept modern bosch plugs,
the other problem is it never charged the battery when he got it, im hoping the generator has just lost residual magnetism and needs polarising because of its infrequent use and flat batteries, im too young to remember generators, i think its a lucas positive ground system and i need to figure out how to polarise that style of gen,
i think the first job is to remove all the terminals and give them a real good cleanup and fit some propper battery terminals that are large enough for cables, right now it has car terminals that are way too small for what looks like at least 2awg cable,
i dont have any info on the old girl, whats the push button on the left for?
if i can just start it and get it inside i can strip some parts and give it a good service of all connections filters ect,
if anybody can give me any pointers it would be much apreciated,

thanks.
