Theres no possible way that AF can get into the air filter if its properlly installed, but I think you either have a very dirty cooling system, or youre just simply filling the radiator too full. Drain it down until its below the tubes,maybe a half on an inch. You should also have a tube near the cap that goes down to the bottom of the radiator, so I am assumng its missing as well.
