ya i'm actually in ireland and the '56 series would have been available here and in england in the eighties. they had a reputation as being fairly bullletproof so i couldn't find anyone that had any suggestions about the gearbox without looking at the tractor. the tractor i'm looking at is actually a case international 1056xl(the xl refers to the xl cab) which was just a continuation of the international line that was sold for a few years after the merger. the following are pages on a sweedish site that list the specifications on practically every tractor ever available in sweeden, they are both the original and the case-ih version, the only differrence being a a redder paint job and a 40kph gearbox
