As far as I know IH never had a 1056, so I dont know how to help you , other than to say, that on a good number of IHs, the end of the shifter is bad about wearing out and needs to be rebuilt/rewelded. x1 would normally be a suffix to the serial number, is why I asked if you had the model # or serail #.
