John: You'll have to be a bit more precise. Most of these big engines crank harder in cold weather. What do you mean by, "pull it off" all I can think of is tow starting, however one can not tow start a 1466, one possible exception, one may be able to tow start if it doesn't have TA, and I'm not certain about that. I am positive one can not tow start a 1466 with TA.
What do you mean by chokes down, never heard the term choke around a diesel?
I tend to agree with the guy who thinks you need a new pump, probably could add injectors to that list. I'm a bit out of touch on prices, however it wouldn't surprise me if a new pump and injectors, put an awful dent in $2,000.
