John: Actually I didn't know that, although I must admit I've never seen a white H and only one white M, and I saw that at a show here in Ontario. I really never gave these much attention, but have seen several Cubs, couple of Super A and 3 maybe 4 C. There was one C in our area that never got painted red. Customer was a rather independant character, told the dealer, "take the tractor or take the check, the later will never be offered again". The dealer often chuckled about it as he only kept the white C until 1956 and traded it on a new red 200 with fast hitch plow and 7' mower. He still had the 200 when he died last year, I guess white wasn't his favouite color afterall.
You've actually got the laugh on me, thanks for setting me straight. Our dealer never sold a lot of M, didn't even stock them. He did sell a mother load of W4, H, C, SC, SA, A and Cubs. In the late 40s he ran his own truck, K series IH with a 45' trailer from Truro, Nova Scotia to Chicago, Illinois to pick up tractors. It was a two week round trip in those days. It insured that he got what he wanted, and not what IH had left and decided to load on rail car, ship east untill they found a home. That was one of the down sides of being that far from the factory in a small market.
