Have to agree ith Hugh, but also tell you this. Go to the grocery store and get you some 409, spray the seat and steering wheel with water, then the 409. Let it soak in, with a soft bristle brush scrub both down the rinse. next time you use the tractor, and if you get black on you, repeat the cleaning process. You will eventually get it ot stop. The seat should be pretty clean every time you use it, but the sterring wheel will continue to decay, which is where some of the black comes from. You can either keep cleaning it,get a cover big enough to cover the steering wheel, or get some clear spray paint mask the area off and spray the whell with clear paint, may take many coats to saturate it good enough to keep the black from getting on your hands. Or the obvious, aftermarket seat and wheel, which are cheap alterantives to IH parts, if they are still available.
