Hi Steve, You may already know this, but it is normal for your engine to show white smoke until it warms up a little. If it is cold where you are, the hard starting wouldn't be a surprise either. However, in addition to the suggestions Tom gave you, worn injector nozzles can cause both of the symptoms you described. Good luck...Al English
