2 lever vs 4 lever backhoe controls

I have a 1987 Ford 655A backhoe with 4 lever controls and an extend-a-hoe. I was wondering what's involved in changing it over to 2 lever controls? Is it an simple as changing the control tower, or more involved with the valves and hoses?
