My fathers Ford 3000 has never been right as far as the hydraulics to the 3 point and loader are concerned. They are basically 'lazy'. After operating the lever, it will take anything between 2&5 seconds to move the arms, and when it does move, it's at a snails pace. Revving the engine at anything over 1500 rpm makes the hydraulics juddery and move even slower!
Is this a goosed pump, blocked filter, anything???
Please help, this has been going on for too long (5+ years - but we've never used it much really, but 2004 is going to be a hard year!), and whilst i'm spending a lot of time doing some LONG overdue maintenace, i'd love to get the hydraulics working like they should again!
It was suggested to me on another forum that this is almost definately a blocked filter, but no other assistance was given.
Ok, i know i need to purchase a manual for the tractor, but can someone confirm and/or explain to me in easy steps what i need to do to locate, remove (clean or replace???) the filter or otjher offending item.
I understand this is in the 'back end' but know nothing more!
oh, if this is a blocked filter (and given the lack of maintenance the rest of the tractor has had for the last 30 odd years it wouldn't surprise me - especially what i found in the bottom of the diesel tank) is there anything else that you recomend i change whilst i'm delving in there???
Finally, what grade of oil should i be using in the back end and main box - and what are the capacities???
oh, i'm in the uk, so i'm taking a guess that the 3000 is the same the world over?
Thanks, in advance,
Dave
