I have a Ford 1520 that won't turn over. When I try to start the tractor, the starter solenoid clicks and then the electrical system goes dead. I have to disconnect and reconnect the positive battery lead to bring the electrical system back to life. When the electricical system is on, the lights, dash lights, and cylinder wall preheater work fine. I suspect the starter solenoid, but don't understand why the electrical system goes dead when I try to start the tractor, nor why it comes back to life when I disconnect and reconnect the positive battery lead. Any Ideas?
