Ford 3000 stuck in 2nd gear

My Ford 3000 diesel often sticks in 2nd gear.
I have had a very difficult time getting it
unstuck. Rocked it, beat the shift lever.
Usually I have been successful in getting it
unstuck however at this time I have been
unsuccessful. Any advice before I head to
the shop on how to get it unstuck ???
