I bought Ford TW5 new 1990(only had 2 hrs on it , but it was 1988 model that was still at the dealership)
I used it for 12 yrs. before the throwout bearing and clutch played out.
I took it to a tractor repair and farm eqpt. place.
They put all new parts in , pressure plate, clutch, throwout bearing, re surfaced fly wheel, and new pilot bearing.
It lasted almost one year, and the throwout bearing seems to have worn through, and my clutch is out again. I don't ride the clutch.
I talked to a mechanic that works on all kinds of tractors.
Does this sound like a coverup?
He says thats not normal, and they may not have set the clerance properly on the throwout bearing, thus causing it to wear out quickly.
Dealer says ,tro. caused by riding clutch, not checked, and hasn't even looked at it yet.
I am the only one that operates this TW%, and I WAS ABLE TO GET 12 YRS OUT OF THE ORIGINAL ONE, SO I THINK MY understanding of how to operate my own tractor is in good order. Dealer wont fix.
