I have a late 70's Ford 535 industrial loader with backhoe attachment. The problem is that the front lift is slow. The tilt on the bucket and the backhoe attachment both work at normal speed. I have talked to several shade tree mechanics and they both think that the control valve will need replaced. If the control valve would need replaced how difficult and expensive would it be to convert to a joystick control? Also is there a good on-line source for these parts? My other concern is that when I go to the local Ford/New Holland dealer they tell me that there is no such beast as a Ford 535 backhoe. Only an Industrial loader tractor is connected with the model 535 designation? The tractor has no PTO or 3-point hitch and the backhoe would appear to me to be a factory install. So what exactly is my machine?
