I need a second opinion on whether to go with my standard pistons and new standard rings on rebuilding my Ford 1320. I will give you the measurements in my situation and will also give you the specifications from the Ford manual.

My tractor measurements:

BORE:
1st Cylinder ---- 3.235 in.
2nd Cylinder ---- 3.230 in.
3rd Cylinder ---- 3.230 in.

PISTON RING END GAP:
(Measurements taken with new, standard size 1st Compression ring)
1st Cylinder ---- .048 in.
2nd Cylinder ---- .042 in.
3rd Cylinder ---- .054 in.

MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS

BORE:
Standard ---- 3.228 - 3.229 in.
.020 over --- 3.236 - 3.256 in.

PISTON RING END GAP
Maximum ---- .039 in.

Let me know what you think. I plan on keeping this tractor for the next 5 to 10 years. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike Smith
