The 172 is the engine from a 4000 of the same vintage. The power steering pumps should be identical, so you should be able to find one searching for either model. Just make sure that the pump is for a 4 cylinder 2000 or 4000. The models changed completely in 1965 when Ford switched these models from 4 cylinder engines to 3 cylinders, and the power steering pumps for the newer 3 cylinder engines will not fit the old 4 cylinder engines.
