Pull the #1 spark plug. put you finger in the plug hole (no kidding). bump over the engine slowly until you feel the compression blowing. Stop. Look at the timing mark. Note the position of the distributor rotor also, should be pointing to #1 on the dist cap. If the timing mark is not anywhere near the the factory mark, then the trouble would most probably be the timing chain has slipped/broken. Remove front engine cover to repair. Big job.
