Ford 3600 Temp Gauge Problem

Hello all,

I have been trying to get the temp gauge on my '79 Ford 3600 diesel working. I don't believe it is the actual gauge, as I put the wire going to the fuel tank sending unit on the temp gauge, and the temp gauge moved. I checked continuity going to the temp sending unit and it was good. I also replaced the temp sending unit in the block with a new one. Unfortunatley the gauge still does not work. Does anyone have any information on how it should be wired, or what kind of voltage readings I should see for troubleshooting purposes?
