We have a 1960 Ford 601 Workmaster. It has 1060 hours. It was found in a barn after 40 years and totally rebuilt by someone who collects tractors. We just bought it. The problem is with the 3-point hitch. I don't believe its ever been used. The original owner may have but not the guy who restored it. We used it this morning for the first time. We put a hay baler on the draw bar. We were able to lower the bar, hook up the baler and lift it. We brought it down to the barn and were unable to raise or lower it. We jacked up the tongue of the baler and disconnected it from the tractor. We then were able to only lower (very jerky)the bar. It is now on the ground and will not raise up. We checked the hydraulic level and it is right up there. I bled the air (didn't seem to need it)from the hydraulic piston pump per the trouble shooting guide in the shop manual. Didn't work. It says if that doesn't work to then disassemble the pump. I really don't want to have to do that. Any suggestions or ideas would be EXTREMELY welcome. Maybe we are doing something wrong.
