I have a 1986 Ford 5900 diesel tractor. It runs great, but will not turn over. The battery is fine and connections are fine. I think it is either a bad nuetral safety switch and/or some sort of burned out fuse. When the key is turned on, the lights on the dash light up. I was able to crank it a few times when this problem first occured by "shorting out" the solenoid to the starter, but now when I try that, I only get a tiny little spark and nothing. How can I trace down the actual problem? Can the neutral safety switch be bypassed in order the see if this is the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
