Hello,
I have two (2) Ford tractors, i.e. 1948 Ford 8N and an 1953 Ford Golden Jublilee. My question is actually in regards to my Jubilee. I recently had the engine overhauled. Lately, I have noticed hydralic fluid leaking from the area of the main hydralic drain plug (i.e. in the center underside of the tractor). Upon closer inspection, I noticed a crack entending from the drain plug to about 6-8 inches away from the drain plug, with a slight "ridging" along the crack and from this crack, hydralic fluid was leaking. My question is does anyone know how I can go about fixing/repairing this crack, short of again "splitting" the tractor and welding the crack, or replacing the entire center housing? My thought for a quick fix was possibly using J.B. Weld, without having to split the tractor?
Any/all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thank-you.
