Check wire from key starter switch to solenoid on top of starter. This can be rubbed through by throttle linkage.
Does your starter motor work if you short out from main feed in to small spade terminal on starter solenoid.TAKE CARE AND MAKE SURE GEAR LEVERS ARE IN NEUTRAL BEFORE TRYING THIS.
If starter does work run a new wire from key starter switch to solenoid.
Also check safety start switch which is either on clutch pedal or on top of gear box near gear levers, disconnect wires and join together to bypass switch.
