I got a 1966 5000 for free from the neighbor with a SOS trans. Trans was nasty inside, clogged suction tube, milky oil. I have adjusted bands, changed oil and filter, replaced servo o-rings and still have only gears R(closest to N), 1,2,5,6,9. From what I have read this means band 1 doesn't apply.
Since I have adjusted the band and the spring and piston of the servo look OK, what is the next step I should look at. I looked at all servo pressures and I have pressure in the gears that the book says but they are all a little low, 190 -180psi at 800 engine rpm.
Can the band itself be worn out?
Hydraulic problem?
Or major internal problems?
Thanks for any help.
Muzz
